A short time ago, you had a full month of blogs, social posts, and videos that were locked and loaded to release in a beautifully organized fashion. This content perfectly timed to your business goals and intentions.

Then, COVID-19 hit.

Revamping a month (or more!) of content is not an easy task for business owners.  But as a content provider, you need to pivot and turn out relevant content for your clients quickly.  Now is not the time to take your foot off the gas. Your community has time to engage with your content, so here’s how to deliver relevant blogs, videos, and social posts that will be helpful and informative.

  1. Share Valuable Skills

As a business owner, you have skills.  It is your job to figure out how to share these skills.  In hard times, often, innovation and creativity peak.  Think about how you can share your knowledge in a new and helpful way and create content to deliver that message.  Become part of the solution by asking yourself the following questions:

  • Can I create and release an online course?
  • Can I release videos with helpful tips to help parents and workers self-isolating?
  • Do I have resources that can help the medical community?
  • Can I partner with others to provide an online service that will help my community?
  1. Practice Generous Leadership

If you are a business that offers online courses or workbooks, offer your resources at a reduced rate or free of charge.  Seth Godin commented on Brian Koppelman’s podcast The Moment

“One of the best sources of resilience is generous leadership.”  If you have an online offering that will keep your community feeling productive, consider removing financial barriers for those who need to stay stimulated.

Use your content platforms to inform your community that you are offering reduced rates, or free, online learning.  Share this content freely so others can benefit from your knowledge.  Contributing and giving back to those in need is a privilege of leadership.

  1. Be a Trusted Resource for Up-To-Date Community News

If you are a community leader, it is helpful to share what is going on in your community.  Your community looks up to you and values your content, opinion, and advice. At this time of uncertainly, being a leader is not something to be taken lightly.  It is a time to step up by providing productive solutions and ideas for your community to embrace.

Be a go-to resource by creating custom content through blogs, social media posts, and online content with useful links to services offered, closers, and relevant news.  People look to leaders to help navigate challenging situations. Use your status to provide as much information as possible for those in your community who may be struggling.

Spread your message with kindness.  As we move through the new social structures resulting from COVID-19, sharing compelling content will allow business owners to connect with their communities and responsibly use resources.
